Lauren Boebert exposes Leftist hypocrisy by heckling Biden
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) heckled President Joe Biden during the State of the Union address on Tuesday, drawing heavy criticism from the Left.
In the address, Biden focused mostly on the war between Russia and Ukraine but devoted some segments to United States affairs. In one of those segments, Biden talked about the dangers faced by American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Biden administration’s shockingly disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in August left the Taliban forces heavily armed and 13 American soldiers dead. In response, the administration killed 10 civilians, including seven children, in a drone strike.
“Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan faced many dangers,” Biden said in his State of the Union speech. “One was stationed at bases and breathing in toxic smoke from ‘burn pits’ that incinerated wastes of war—medical and hazard material, jet fuel, and more. When they came home, many of the world’s fittest and best trained warriors were never the same. Headaches. Numbness. Dizziness.”
“A cancer that would put them in a flag-draped coffin,” Biden added. “I know.”
That was when Boebert disrupted the speech.
“You put them in, 13 of them!” Boebert shouted.
The interruption invoked outrage from the Left, many of whom had cheered when Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi publicly tore up former President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech on camera in 2020.
“When @SpeakerPelosi ripped up Trump’s speech, she spoke for the majority, thank you Madam Speaker,” tweeted screenwriter David Weissman.
But on Tuesday, Weissman took a different tone, chastising not only Boebert, but also Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who began chanting “Build the wall!”
“.@laurenboebert and @repmtg are pure trash and should be reprimanded for their disrespect,” Weissman wrote.
“It’s so funny watching the lowest bottom feeders on the planet pretend to get outraged because a great woman ripped up a piece of paper,” The Palmer Report wrote in a tweet in 2020.
“Whatever a**hole just yelled ‘thirteen of them’ needs to be expelled immediately,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
Popular Leftist influencer Majid Padellan outright advocated for someone to interrupt Trump’s State of the Union in 2020.
“During the State of the Union, I’d give almost anything to see DEMs pull a Joe Wilson and scream ‘YOU LIE’ all in unison when trump lies about his impeachment or anything else. It might be petty, but he sure as hell deserves that treatment,” Padellan wrote then.
But Padellan did not support Boebert’s actions.
“I didn’t want to give Lauren Boebert any attention, but it has to be said that was a classless moment when she heckled while Joe was talking about his dead son. Truly disgusting,” he wrote on Tuesday.
Boebert also showed up to the State of the Union in a dress that prominently read “Drill Baby Drill” on the back, mimicking Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who attended the Met Gala in September in a dress that read “Tax the rich.”
The phrase “Drill Baby Drill” advocates for oil drilling in the U.S. so that the United States can be energy independent. Just after becoming president, Joe Biden shut down the Keystone Pipeline and has been moving away from fracking in favor of renewable energy.
