US senator would overturn 2nd Amendment, says staffer
US Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) would “be okay” with completely disarming Americans and overturning the Second Amendment, according to one of his staffers.
Fetterman’s Special Assistant Luke Borwegan unwittingly divulged the information on hidden camera to an undercover journalist.
The video, published by O’Keefe Media Group (OMG) Wednesday, showed Borwegan saying that his boss would prefer no one have any guns at all.
“He’s 100% for gun control,” said Borwegan, explaining how that included Red Flag laws and bans on automatic rifles.
“He’d be okay with, like, overturning the Second Amendment, probably,” continued Borwegan. “I think he would much rather prefer, like, nobody have guns at all.”
The staffer noted that Fetterman himself owns many guns, though he did not clarify if the senator would surrender them along with other citizens.
Fetterman served as Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor until November 2022 after being supported by his parents into his 40s. During the pandemic, he used taxpayer money to vacation on the Jersey Shore while advocating for harsh lockdowns. Just two days prior, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy had vowed to crack down on partygoers on the Jersey Shore.
In May 2021, Fetterman suffered a stroke, less than a month after his COVID-19 injection. The stroke left the 52-year-old Democrat disabled and sometimes unable to form coherent sentences. During his senatorial campaign, Fetterman was known to inadvertently espouse the opposite policies, like when he claimed to “celebrate the demise of Roe v. Wade” at a town hall meeting.
Nevertheless, Fetterman not only easily beat challenger Dr. Mehmet Oz, but he flipped the Republican seat to Democrat.
In February, Fetterman checked into Walter Reed Hospital for depression. He was absent for two months and missed over 80% of Senate roll calls.
But only once did Fetterman give an interview that turned sour. After interviewing Fetterman during the campaign, NBC News correspondent Dasha Burns concluded that “it wasn't clear he was understanding our conversation.” She faced enormous backlash, particularly from journalists Kara Swisher, Rebecca Traister and others.
Now Borwegan makes sure that any Fetterman interviews go only to journalists like Swisher.
“I only pick journalists who we know will paint the narrative the way we want,” Borwegan told the undercover journalist. “Like they won’t paint him in a bad light, you know?”
He mentioned Swisher and Time magazine as those who are favorable to Fetterman.
“Like, reporters, we can tell them to go f*ck themselves and they can’t do anything because they need us more than we need them, because everybody wants a f*cking story about John Fetterman.”
“They’re just like puppets though,” he added, referring to journalists.
Borwegan also disclosed that he follows the brain-addled lawmaker with an iPad which transcribes what others are saying so Fetterman can better process what he’s being told.
