This week in #DiedSuddenly (Part 2)

 

Reports of healthy, young people dying unexpectedly continue to pour in daily, a phenomenon the media and their doctors are dismissing as Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).   

Out of the many cases sent to America’s Frontline News this week, we have chosen a small handful to include in this report to help shine a spotlight on these ‘unexplained’ deaths. 

DiShondra Goree 

Columbia Basin College Athletics shared on Twitter Saturday afternoon a member of their coaching staff had died. Coach DiShondra Goree, head volleyball coach, ‘died unexpectedly’ overnight in her home. "Words cannot express the sorrow we feel at this time," says the tweet.  

CBC Athletic Director Scott Rogers said Goree’s fiancé, Marcus Dunnigan, notified school officials Saturday morning, and they brought the team together to mourn. Rogers said the coroner said she died from natural causes. 

Stacey Bejelland 

“Hello friends and family, My lifelong companion and best friend, Stacey Bjelland, passed away suddenly of a brain aneurysm on Friday, 10/21/2022. l am overwhelmed with disbelief and am heartbroken. I will update on service arrangements as information becomes available. Hold those around you close. - Greg Tombley 

Cynthia Lai 

Toronto city councillor Cynthia Lai has died, her re-election campaign announced in a statement on Friday. Her death comes just days before the municipal election on Oct. 24, in which she was running to retain her seat.  

"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Councillor Cynthia Lai, Ward 23, Scarborough North this afternoon. She was surrounded by family at the hospital," the statement said. 

Lai, who immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in the 1970s, was first elected in 2018 and was running for re-election in Monday's municipal election against three other candidates. 

The statement didn't include a cause of death and her family has asked for privacy. - CBC News 

Peter Cusanelli 

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of my brother Peter Cusanelli who died unexpectedly Saturday night in his sleep. Sadly he will never be replaced. We love you Peter. We will update with service arrangements at West Haven Funeral Home. He will be missed forever.” - Mark Payton Cusanelli 

Ian Warner 

“A much-loved York landlord who became the 'perfect publican' has died suddenly, at the age of just 57. Ian Warner, widely known to his friends as Badger, had run The Slip Inn in Clementhorpe since 2017, and was hugely popular across the industry and in the local community. He is survived by his loving wife Gill, and hundreds of friends.” - Y01 Radio 

Christa Larson 

“Friends and family, there is no easy way to say this…my daughter Christa Larson died unexpectedly yesterday. She leaves behind her husband Sam and son William. We are in shock and deep grief. More info later.” - Brenda F. Merriam Merriweather 

Naomi Buckley 

“On Monday our beautiful Naomi Buckley sadly and unexpectedly passed away. Naomi leaves behind her greatest achievement and blessing, her 8 week old son, Greyson, her loving partner Peter Napper, her loving family and her many friends.” - Jackie Osborne 

DJ Mighty Mouse (Matthew Ward) 

DJ Mighty Mouse has ‘died suddenly,’ aged 48.  

The music star, who was well regarded by listeners of house and disco, died in his sleep after suffering an aortic aneurysm in his Spanish home. 

Mighty Mouse, whose real name was Matthew Ward, was signed by UK label Defected Records, who announced the news. 

A statement read: “We are devastated to confirm that Matthew Ward aka Mighty Mouse, died suddenly last Thursday at his home in Spain. - Billboard 

Dwight Barber 

“Sorry to report my classmate and friend Dwight Barber has passed away suddenly last nite. He loved music and recently sat in with our band Heart and Soul.” - Rich Guajardo 

Julie Tregre Cherry 

“Rest In Peace To My Classmate & A Friend Ms. Julie Tregre Cherry. Julie and I would always have long phone conversations monthly. Julie was really a smart, strong woman and she was strong until the end. Over All Obstacles she continued to press forward and reach her goal of graduating Law School.
