Target caught targeting women with ads for Marxism

Target has reportedly been inserting advertisements for Marxism in its ad campaigns targeting women.
The New York Post says one of its journalists was scrolling through her Instagram feed when she was presented with an ad for Target. Although she found it odd because she never shops at the retail giant, she was enticed by a photo of a scarf. She scrolled through the ad carousel, which featured various photos of women’s apparel products, and was surprised to suddenly see an ad for Karl Marx’s treatise, “Capital.”
“Capital – by Karl Marx (Paperback) New arrivals are here! Discover the latest must-haves at Target,” read the ad’s caption.
“What did I do to deserve ‘Das Kapital’?” the employee wondered, referring to the book’s original German title.
A Google search shows that Target sells the book, but users who click on those links are greeted with the message: “There was an issue getting your results.” It is unclear when the book became unavailable.
The retail giant has yet to respond to the story, but this would not be Target’s first time pushing a Left-wing agenda on consumers.
Gender ideology for kids
In 2023, Target came under fire for marketing transgender and Satanist merchandise to children. The summer collection included Pride onesies for infants, clothing with transgender slogans, female swimwear for males to help them tuck their genitalia, chest binders for girls, items promoting Satan, and children’s books such as “Bye Bye Binary” and “What Are Your Words?,” a book about gender pronouns.
Consumers responded with a mass boycott, causing Target to remove the offensive products from their shelves—although the mega-retailer still released a Pride collection in June 2024. The boycott persisted, and was credited with a 22% dive in Target’s stock in November 2024, wiping out $15.7 billion of the corporation’s market value. The Riviera Beach Police Pension Fund (RBPPF), which had bought Target stock at an inflated price, sued the retailer in late January after suffering financial losses from the boycott.
Target toned down its aggressive promotion of Left-wing propaganda following Donald Trump’s victory in November 2024. That month, the company announced it would scale back its DEI initiatives and programs, including one promoting products from Black-owned businesses. In June, which the Left observes as “Pride Month,” Target shoppers were surprised to find USA-themed collections instead of the usual LGBTQ-themed merchandise.
