Election denier Stacey Abrams blames inflation worries on children, pushes feticide

Failed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams Wednesday said children are to blame for inflation concerns, which is why people need to abort more fetuses.

Abrams, who denies the results of her 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election and is running again, made the remarks during an MSNBC interview with anchor Mike Barnicle. Barnicle asked Abrams how she would combat rising cost of living for Americans living in Georgia.

“I would assume, maybe incorrectly, that while abortion is an issue, it nowhere reaches the level of interest in voters such as the cost of gas, food, bread, milk, things like that,” Barnicle said. “What could you do as governor to alleviate concerns of Georgia voters about the livability, daily, hourly issues that they’re confronted with?”

Abrams appeared to know exactly how those day-to-day concerns caused by inflation can be alleviated.

“Let’s be clear: having children is why you’re worried about your price or gas, it’s why you’re concerned about how much food costs. For women, this is not a reductive issue,” Abrams said. “You can’t divorce being forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy from the economic realities of having a child. And so these are, it’s, it’s important for us to have both, and conversations.”

In a White House press briefing Wednesday, Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy asked Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre whether Biden, who endorsed Abrams, agrees with her remarks.

“In Georgia, the president’s endorsed candidate for governor Stacey Abrams is suggesting that to mitigate the effects of inflation is to get an abortion,” Doocy said. “Does President Biden agree?”

But Jean-Pierre refused to comment, saying only that Biden doesn’t want to jeopardize the election.

“I did not see her comments on this, so I don’t know the context of this,” Jean-Pierre said. “Again, I want to be careful because this is a political debate and it’s related to the midterms and an election so I’m not going to comment on that.”

Abrams famously denied the results of her 2018 race against now-Republican Governor Brian Kemp, despite losing by nearly 55,000 votes.

“I acknowledge that former Secretary of State Brian Kemp will be certified as the victor in the 2018 gubernatorial election,” Abrams said after she lost. “Let’s be clear: This is not a speech of concession because concession means to acknowledge an action is right, true or proper. As a woman of conscience and faith, I cannot concede that.”

In 2019, she claimed that “Despite the final tally and the inauguration. I do have one very affirmative statement to make. We won.”

Democrats, however, refuse to acknowledge that Abrams denied her election.

The Augusta Chronicle, a sister publication of USA Today, ran a piece this month titled, “Election deniers are on the ballot in Georgia. Here’s who and why.” Absent from that list was Stacey Abrams.

For that matter, Abrams herself now denies she denied losing the election, telling ABC’s The View last month that she “never denied that I lost. I don’t live in the governor’s mansion; I would have noticed.”
