Protests ramping up for Canadian freedom activist held as political prisoner without bail

Prayer vigils and protests are being organized for famed Pastor Artur Pawlowski, who was arrested in Canada for the fifth time two weeks ago, as reported by Frontline News.

Pawlowski has been in the Trudeau regime’s crosshairs ever since he went viral in 2021, just after a law was passed forcing the closure of houses of worship in the name of public health. A video circulated of police entering the Cave of Adullam Church during the service on Easter weekend to shut it down. Pawlowski chased them out.

“Out of this property you Nazis! Gestapo is not allowed here!” he shouted at them. “Out, Nazi! Out! Nazis are not welcome here! Do not come back here you Nazi psychopaths!”

Pawlowski was subsequently arrested. The judge imposed a travel ban on the pastor so he could not spread his “dangerous” opinions. The judge also composed a disclaimer that he said Pawlowski must recite after expressing an opinion regarding COVID-19.

The ruling was so absurd that Pawlowski was able to get a temporary injunction.

Recently, however, Pawlowski was arrested at his home in Calgary for speaking in favor of the Freedom Convoy truckers, just as he was about to leave for a rally. The pastor is being charged with trespassing and mischief, in addition to being charged under Alberta’s Critical Infrastructure Defence Act for allegedly abetting the Coutts, Alberta trucker blockade.

Pawlowski is the first person to be charged under that Act, including the truckers themselves, and he is being held without bail.

“I have concluded that the Crown’s … grounds (for seeking detention) are substantial and that there is a substantial likelihood that the accused will, if released from custody, continue on offending, or interfering with the administration of justice,” said Justice Olsen.

“The accused’s pattern of behaviour speaks volumes about his willful commission of offences and/or violations of court and public health orders. His conduct, if proven at trial, has contributed to enormous economic harm to the local, provincial and national economy and substantial community harm to ordinary Canadians.”

According to Cindy Chafian, an American conservative activist and spokeswoman for Pawlowski, the pastor is being held in solitary confinement. She is asking both Canadians and Americans to join a mass effort to free Pawlowski.

“I have been working behind the scenes to try and get any members of Congress to listen to the story and act on it,” wrote Chafian in a widely distributed text. “There is a letter with over 9000 signatures on it that ask them to do something in support of Artur and Canada. That will be delivered this week.”

Chafian also urged people to hold gatherings in support of Pawlowski.

“Additionally, we are planning prayer vigils and peaceful protests at the Canadian consulates, border crossings, and any churches who are bold enough to stand with Artur. If you would be willing to hold one, please let me know. Nationally we’re planning for Feb 26 but understand if there isn’t enough time.  It can be done at any time. His next hearing isn’t until March 11.”

Arrangements are also underway to drive awareness of the struggle for freedom of expression.

“We’re planning to rent digital billboards to drive around the consulates, we are talking with a Canadian truck driver here in the states to see if we can wrap his trailer with the graphics on our website,” continued Chafian. “They understand the need to keep this story alive in the news cycles and in the minds of the people.”
