NIH ivermectin data defies FDA, mainstream media narrative

A Google search of “ivermectin” will generate a plethora of results, all of which claim ivermectin should not be used as a COVID-19 treatment.  

None of the sites making those claims, including that of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), provide any evidence as to why ivermectin should not be used, only that ivermectin is an antiparasitic drug and has not been approved by the FDA to treat COVID-19. 

Nor is any evidence offered showing that ivermectin is dangerous as COVID-19 treatment. 

“The FDA has not authorized or approved ivermectin for use in preventing or treating COVID-19 in humans or animals,” says the FDA on its website. “Ivermectin is approved for human use to treat infections caused by some parasitic worms and head lice and skin conditions like rosacea." 

“Currently available data do not show ivermectin is effective against COVID-19,” the post continues. “Clinical trials assessing ivermectin tablets for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19 in people are ongoing.” 

A Google News search brings up headlines by the mainstream media clamoring to discredit ivermectin, many of them citing a March study which has already been debunked. But even prior to that study, the corporate media have been pushing the agreed-upon narrative that ivermectin is an antiparasitic drug not approved by the FDA for off-label use. 

A recent viral post shared across social media this week suggests users visit the National Institutes of Health’s website and search “ivermectin and cancer”. The results generated show overwhelming scientific evidence for ivermectin's off-label use as a cancer treatment.  The FDA has not approved this either. 

“Ivermectin has New Application in Inhibiting Colorectal Cancer Cell Growth,” says one 2020 study. 

“The multitargeted drug ivermectin: from an antiparasitic agent to a repositioned cancer drug,” reads another research article from 2018. 

“Anti-parasite drug ivermectin can suppress ovarian cancer by regulating lncRNA-EIF4A3-mRNA axes,” says another 2020 study. 

“Antibiotic ivermectin preferentially targets renal cancer through inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative damage,” a 2017 study shows. 

However, a Google search of “ivermectin cancer treatment FDA approved” will bring up no results from mainstream media outlets, nor any results on the FDA’s website. 

It is unclear why there is an apparent media blackout regarding ivermectin being used as a life-saving cancer treatment. 

It is also puzzling why the media and FDA have waged war on ivermectin for being used off-label, when 20% of medications are commonly and safely prescribed for off-label use. 

Yet, doctors who prescribe ivermectin as a COVID-19 treatment can find themselves targeted by media and medical boards more than doctors who sexually abuse their patients, as reported by Frontline News. 

Lately, however, a growing number of states have been passing legislation to make ivermectin available to COVID-19 patients, vindicating physicians around the globe.
