Leaked screenshots show Twitter employees discussing banning Libs of TikTok

Libs of TikTok Tuesday released screenshots of an internal conversation between Twitter employees – or tweeps, as they call themselves – deliberating on whether to suspend the account for “targeted violence at marginalized people” and targeting “trans people” for “genocidal violence.” 

The Libs of TikTok account mostly re-posts absurd videos uploaded to TikTok by their own content creators, though recently the videos have shown more disturbing content such as forced sexualization of children in the name of gender disorientation and same sex attraction. The account has grown immensely popular and has been suspended by Twitter multiple times. 

Now Twitter employees have accused Libs of TikTok of calling for violence, though the account has done no such thing. 

“Like I don’t get how this account, which exists solely to generate targeted violence at margnilized [sic] people, continues to be allowed to post,” wrote one Twitter employee to colleagues in a chat labeled “#social-watercooler”. Raichik posted the screenshots to her Substack newsletter. 

“But if we deplatform this account, we might erode trust in our platform from users who already think we’re irredeemably biased against conservatives,” replied another tweep sarcastically, along with a fear emoji. 

In fact, Twitter employees themselves were recently caught on hidden camera admitting to censoring conservatives, revealing that the company’s workers are “commie as “f*ck”. 

Another employee tried to be the “voice of reason” and suggested it might not be in the company’s “fiduciary” interests to ban the platform right now. 

“I mean we successfully deplatformed Trump – I don’t think deplatforming Libs of TikTok is going to cause a mass exodus but I guess it might not be in our ‘fiduciary’ interest to enact a ban on a high profile account right now...” 

But the employee was promptly reminded that “trans people are being targeted for genocidal violence during pride month,” and the employee was forced to write a lengthy apology. 

“I apologize – I was not speaking from my own perspective but applying a commentary on how leadership has behaved recently. I could have phrased that better and will be more conscious in future messages. I despise and despair the activity that is currently flourishing on our platform and empowering white supremacist/fascists to act with impunity in conducting harmful emotional and physical violence on trans folx and the broader LGBTQ+ community.” 

The other employee appeared to be satisfied, saying, “Gotcha, thanks for clarifying.” 

On Monday, Libs of TikTok account creator Chaya Raichik was forced to go into hiding after receiving multiple death threats, which she has reported to the FBI. 

“I will murder your parents while playing Beyonce music, don’t play with me,” said one. 

“I’m going to kidnap you and torture you daisy’s destruction style,” wrote another. 

“F*CKING KILL YOURSELF,” messaged an account called Women Are Powerful with the Ukrainian flag as its profile photo. 

“Just popping in to say you’re a horrible person and you should kill yourself,” wrote another. 

“I just found your mom on facebook!” wrote another. “She’s so cute and ob3se. It would be a shame if somebody decided to cut the weight off of her and left her somewhere to bl33d to d3@th...WATCH OUT.” 

Another account told Raichik that he had sent her a pipe bomb. 

“Sent you a pipe bomb for literally supporting nazi bigots babe...please kill yourself at the earliest convenience,” wrote @thisisironicfr. 

Raichik publicly asked Twitter why none of the accounts were being suspended – which is against Twitter’s policy – and Elon Musk joined in. 

“Why @Twitter?” wrote the Tesla CEO.  

“This is what it's like to be a woman on the internet who got doxed by a newspaper owned by the world's richest man,” tweeted journalist Glenn Greenwald, referencing the Washington Post’s publication of Raichik’s personal details. “Actual death threats and encouragement of suicide. Since liberal outlets only care when this happens to rich, famous national journalists, they'll ignore this,” he said about the pipe bomb threat.
