In Pfizer drug culture, only the first fix is free

“Little does the patient realize that in drug culture, only the first fix is free.” Thus wrote Dr. Jay R. Cavanaugh, Ph.D. (1949–2005), who was appointed to the California State Board of Pharmacy for ten years by three Governors.

In a piece entitled Reckless Disregard, Dr. Cavanaugh wrote about the "nameless and faceless executives who hide behind the alleged respectability of names like Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck and Co., Pfizer, and many more."

“Pfizer creates a whole new and utterly fabricated disease of widespread male sexual dysfunction, then promotes Viagra to treat it,” he wrote. “Pfizer also promotes its brain-numbing drug Neurontin for every ‘off label’ use imaginable and is willing to pay doctors to try out their product.

”In Israel, the business model described by Cavanaugh seems to be proceeding with near-Teutonic thoroughness and efficiency, as massive Pfizer Company donations to the medical field in Israel are coordinated with the largest medical experiment ever performed on an entire nation.

‍Pfizer Inc. is a New York-based pharmaceutical company. It is known for products such as Advil, Viagra, Xanax, Zoloft, Bextra, Celebrex, Diflucan, Lyrica, and Robitussin. It was the second-largest pharmaceutical company by revenue in 2020. In December 2020, the Food and Drug Administration granted Pfizer the first emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine.

U.S. Department of Justice says Pfizer set a record for the largest health care fraud settlement and the largest criminal fine of any kind with $2.3 billion in 2009.

GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson are among the most-fined drug companies, according to a Journal of the American Medical Association study.

GlaxoSmithKline paid nearly $10 billion in inflation-adjusted financial penalties between January 2003 and December 2016, the highest tally for any drug company, according to research published in JAMA. That sum was more than any other in a sampling of 26 companies paying fines inside the U.S. Pfizer was next in line with almost $3 billion in fines. Johnson & Johnson came in third with $2.7 billion in penalties.

The study did not consider the cost of class-action settlements or penalties from governments outside of the U.S.

University of North Carolina at Charlotte professor and coauthor of the study Denis G. Arnold was quoted by Pharmaceutical Processing World saying: “The pharmaceutical industry is unique in that all large pharmaceutical firms explicitly state that they are focused on promoting patient welfare, yet the majority of large pharmaceutical firms engage in illegal activities that harm patient welfare.”

He continued: “The industry also has the worst reputation of any industry according to Gallup polling. This is an intriguing problem for anyone interested in business ethics and public health.”

To what extent does Israel’s health system depend on pharmaceutical company money? It turns out that this dependence, which, according to The Marker, the Health Ministry has been trying to regulate lately, reaches into the heart of the Ministry itself.

The Health Ministry has been operating an association called the "Medical Research, Infrastructure, Development, and Health Services Foundation Near the Capital Jerusalem" for more than 20 years. The association is a quasi-official flexible executive arm of the Ministry, whose management consists of its senior members: Health Ministry Deputy Director Prof. Itamar Grotto, Public Health Services head Dr. Rivka Sheffer, Administration and Human Resources Deputy Director Dov Fast, Health Ministry Medical Administration head Ward Ezra. Board members are not paid for their position in the association.

The Marker says the association holds securities worth NIS 30 million, and receives donations from pharmaceutical companies. The Health Ministry told The Marker: "The Ministry does not receive funding from pharmaceutical companies."

Be that as it may, in year 2017, Pfizer topped the list of donors to the health field in Israel with the sum of over 11 million shekels. In 2018, Pfizer gave over 10 million shekels, and in 2019 Pfizer came in second in the donor list with an amount of nearly 8 million shekels.

Those receiving Pfizer largesse include most of the hospitals in the country, and the major sick funds. 1

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, in partnership with STAT, reported that Latin American countries accused Pfizer of “high-level bullying” during COVID-19 vaccine negotiations.

Government officials from Argentina and another Latin American country that signed a confidentiality agreement with Pfizer told the Bureau that Pfizer demanded additional indemnity against civil lawsuits citizens might file for damages related to Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.

Pfizer reportedly demanded governments in Argentina and Brazil put up sovereign assets, including military bases, bank reserves, and embassies as collateral for potential future lawsuits that may arise.

‍BioSpace reported: “Since the beginning, Pfizer has been collaborating with over 100 countries as well as supranational organizations on COVID-19 vaccine deals. The company has reached supply agreements with a total of nine Latin American and Caribbean countries, including Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay. Detailed terms of these supply deals have not yet been fully disclosed.”

“Some liability protection is warranted, but certainly not for fraud, gross negligence, mismanagement, failure to follow good manufacturing practices,” said World Health Organization Collaborating Center on National and Global Health Law Director Lawrence Gostin in The Bureau  article. “Companies have no right to ask for indemnity for these things.”

‍Donna Rachel Edmunds wrote: “Of course it goes without saying that the agreement between the State of Israel and Pfizer was made without the knowledge of the citizens, who were told that the vaccine had been tested and was safe. Many took the vaccine because they were assured that it had already been proven safe.“However, that’s not the whole story. Shortly after, a local journalist contacted a contract lawyer who reviewed the redacted document published by the government and concluded that it had not only been redacted, but also tampered with.

“The lawyer identified anomalous language which made it clear the document had been edited as well as redacted. They further explained:‘

On closer inspection, one can clearly see that the ‘readable PDF’ ends in the middle of clause 5.2 – just before the beginning of this strange insertion. The rest of this page (page 6) and the following page (page 7) are not ‘readable PDF’.

Rather, they have been inserted anew, and are not part of the original text.

‘The same replacement of readable-PDF text takes place on page 4. I believe this occurs here in order to hide a significant section of text which has been removed.

‍“Clearly, the document presented to the public is not the full agreement with Pfizer. This raises the obvious question: if the government is willing to concede that it is conducting a mass experiment on Israeli citizens – already illegal – then what has it taken steps to hide?!

“Taken together with the revelation that Pfizer has leant on other governments for state assets such as military bases, bank reserves and embassies, the picture becomes even more alarming.

“Israel has some of the most advanced military capabilities on the planet, backed by the USA. It also has some of the most advanced digital technologies, including tech such as facial recognition software and encryption breakers which seriously threaten personal freedoms.

“Given that the State of Israel has clearly already shown itself to be willing to potentially ransom the health of every Israeli citizen to Pfizer, what else may they have handed over? If the vaccines proves not to be effective – or, God forbid, even dangerous to health, as some reports have already suggested – could Pfizer have demanded access to Israel’s military capabilities as surety?”

It is possible that with the record of injuries associated with the vaccine, Pfizer would be remiss if it did not demand indemnity against lawsuits. A report of Pfizer vaccine adverse events from the United Kingdom published March 4th, 2021 for the period from September 12th, 2020 to February 2nd, 2021 lists 2,033 blood disorders, 1,025 heart events including 25 deaths, 713 ear disorders, 1,242 eye disorders, 9,360 gastric and gastrointestinal disorders, 466 immune system disorders, of which 173 involve anaphylactic shock, 1,863 infections including 33 deaths, 525 metabolic disorders, 11,565 muscle and tissue disorders, 16,107 nervous system disorders, 16 miscarriages, 1,235 psychiatric disorders, 3,575 respiratory disorders, and 965 phenomena still in inquiry.

In Israel, any report or suggestion of vaccine-associated injury is still treated as “fake news,” but this does not mean all the country’s leaders are ignorant. Sources have told America’s Frontline Doctors that a Knesset Member from the Yisrael Beyteinu Party headed by Avigdor Liberman said in private conversation: “We know there is a problem, we understand everything; just let us get enough votes in the upcoming elections to start driving our own policy on that. Until then, we’re not touching anything that has to do with vaccines.

”The situation in Israel is perhaps reminiscent of another passage in Dr. Cavanaugh’s above-quoted article: “"Our decision-makers in Washington are influenced by huge campaign donations from the drug companies, and not from any scientific proof, medical evidence, or the cries of anguish from the sick, disabled, and dying. Even universities and scientists have been co-opted by the drug cartel. Is research money tight? The answer is simple, just be willing to ignore ethics and take pharmaceutical company money for so-called ‘independent’ research. Then give the perverted ‘results’ to the sales folks and harm some more patients.

"The Observer recently published reports that physicians and researchers no longer even have to write professional papers for publication. The drug companies have teams of ghostwriters who know exactly how to spin the results for their newest products.

"With universities and medical centers dependent upon the drug companies for well over half of all their research money, not a word of protest is heard about the perversion of science for profit. Where is the FDA in all of this? They are involved in what is called ‘fast track.’ The FDA exists today to get new and more profitable drugs to market. Today's regulator is tomorrow's high-priced pharmaceutical executive or consultant."

Speaking of pharmaceutical executives, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla reportedly cancelled his scheduled trip to Israel, as he is not vaccinated against COVID-19.  “Any company visit will most likely occur in late spring or early summer at the earliest, once travel conditions improve and COVID-related restrictions are eased,“ a statement said.

It is unknown why Bourla has not submitted to being injected with his own product,  but it is known that Pfizer asked Argentina and Brazil for indemnification from fraud and malice as a condition to use the vaccine in their country. Argentina said no. When Binyamin Netanyahu was asked to grant Pfizer indemnity, the result was what Senior Israel Democracy Institute attorney Dr. Tehila Schwartz-Altshuler called "the most extensive study of human beings in the 21st century...To say it isn't research is a lie.”

Dr. Cavanaugh continued: "Just as the small print warnings on a pack of cigarettes don't absolve the tobacco companies from helping to kill 500,000 Americans a year, neither does the small print about ‘adverse reactions’ absolve the pharmaceutical companies from their advertising-fueled carnage. At least the tobacco companies never claimed that their poisonous products would treat illness. Tobacco can't be advertised in mass media anymore due to the harm but the latest drug products fill our television screens, websites, newspapers, and magazines. Over 50% of patients today come to the doctor with a new prescription in mind from this advertising blitz and most physicians are more than happy to comply."

Dr. Cavanaugh asks: "How are folks to know the truth and make decisions in their own interest? How do patients protect themselves from the predatory practices of the drug makers? If the government and the AMA have been bought and sold, then how are ordinary Americans to know what to do?

"Don't ask for the truth in the ads we all read and see ad nauseum. Don't ask for the truth on the Internet either. Ask a health question on nearly any major health website and you'll get information from experts that are consultants for the drug companies, and the sites themselves are sponsored and censored by the same drug companies."

Cavanaugh concluded: "Intentional and reckless disregard for human life is the very definition of homicide."

Health Communication Lecturer at IDC Herzliya International School Dr. Yaffa Shir Raz has predicted a commission of inquiry will eventually be established to investigate the "peddling" of the COVID-19 outbreak. An Israeli law firm has submitted a petition to the International War Crimes Tribunal in the Hague, including annexes with testimonials, with a similar petition going to Israel's Supreme Court. Meanwhile, Israel continues to fulfil its contractual obligation to the Pfizer company, faithfully.
