Dems hope to use Biden cancer diagnosis to shut down uproar over mental health cover-up

Democrats are asking to “mute” conversations about their coverup of Joe Biden’s mental decline while he is struggling with cancer.
A scandalous cover-up
On Friday, Axios published excerpts from an interview last year between Biden and then-Special Counsel Robert Hur, which revealed that Biden was suffering from significant mental decline while in the White House.
Although this was unsurprising to the general public, who as far back as 2020 had watched Biden struggle on the campaign trail to form sentences and remember basic facts, it confirmed that Democrats had coordinated an aggressive gaslighting campaign against the American public. During Biden’s term, Democrat officials and media operatives repeatedly assured the nation that he was “sharp as ever” and mentally alert. Those who questioned Biden’s mental acuity were dismissed as conspiracy theorists.
A sudden cancer diagnosis
But the scandal that broke on Friday was immediately followed by news that Biden is suffering from an aggressive form of stage four prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones. Many observers are questioning the “sudden” diagnosis, saying that this form of cancer would have shown up in health screenings over the last several years. The news comes two days before the release of a book called “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again.” The book was written by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, two journalists who repeatedly assured the American people that Biden was mentally acute and discouraged claims to the contrary.
Uproar about the cover-up should be ‘set aside for now’
Meanwhile, Democrats are using the news to move on from discussions about Biden’s mental decline cover-up.
“[Given] his announced medical condition now, do you believe that silences or delays a lot of conversations about his last year and a half of his presidency? For now?” a CNN anchor asked Democrat operative and former Barack Obama advisor David Axelrod.
“Yeah,” Axelrod replied, saying those conversations “should be more muted and set aside for now as he’s struggling through this.”
‘That had to be the plan’
Netizens took to X to express their outrage at the attempt to distract from the cover-up.
“Next up: You’re a heartless monster if you keep talking about it,” said influencer Western Lensman.
“This is why the ‘surprise’ cancer diagnosis was announced,” commented Sara Gonzalez. “It was not a surprise. They timed it accordingly and they’re playing you so you feel bad enough to stop speaking out about what happened during his presidency. Don’t fall for it.”
“The Democrats and the media covering up Joe Biden’s cognitive decline is the biggest political scandal of our time—and now Democrats want the press to dutifully continue to cover it up,” wrote conservative commentator Steve Guest.
“Can you imagine if somehow they had dragged Joe Biden across the finish line “Weekend at Bernie’s 2” style in November, then six months later they claimed they had just found out Biden had cancer and needed to elevate Kamala as a result? Because that had to be the plan,” said Clay Travis.
