Dem lawmakers say their constituents are demanding violence

Axios reported on Monday that Democrat lawmakers say they’re being urged by constituents to “fight harder” against the GOP by resorting to violence.
"Some of them have suggested . . . what we really need to do is be willing to get shot" when storming federal agencies like ICE centers, a House Democrat told the news outlet. “Our own base is telling us that what we're doing is not good enough . . . [that] there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public," the lawmaker added.
Another Democrat legislator reported being told by constituents that “civility isn't working" and to prepare for "violence . . . to fight to protect our democracy."
Yet another said that "people online have sent me crazy s*** . . . told me to storm the White House and stuff like that.”
"What I have seen is a demand that we get ourselves arrested intentionally or allow ourselves to be victims of violence, and ... a lot of times that's coming from economically very secure white people," said another House Democrat. “The expectations aren't just unreal. They're dangerous," the lawmaker added.
An increase in violent aggression
Democrat lawmakers have indeed been getting more aggressive. In May, New Jersey Reps. Bonnie Watson-Coleman, LaMonica McIver, and Rob Menendez stormed an ICE detention facility in Newark housing criminal illegal aliens. Joined by Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, they demanded access to the facility to conduct “oversight.” They were denied entry by security, so they pushed past security. A clash ensued as Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents attempted to prevent the Democrat officials from entering and to secure the facility. The officials later claimed that they had been “roughed up” and assaulted by the federal agents, but bodycam footage showed the opposite was true.
Last month, Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) was physically dragged out of the room and detained after angrily interrupting Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s press conference.
On Tuesday, ten far-Left terrorists were arrested after ambushing federal ICE agents at a detention facility on July 4th, shooting one in the neck. The agent is expected to survive.
An assassination culture
The demand for “blood” by Democrat constituents relates to an “assassination culture” that researchers say is setting in among the Left.
According to a recent poll conducted by the Network of Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) and Rutgers University’s Social Perception Lab, as much as 55% of those who self-identify as Leftists said it would at least be somewhat justified to assassinate President Donald Trump or billionaire Elon Musk. These findings correlate with the Left’s celebration of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s assassination in December, as well as the attempt on Trump’s life on July 13, 2024.
“This report points to disturbingly high levels of support for political violence, particularly targeting President Donald Trump and Elon Musk,” the authors wrote. “Across survey responses, nearly one-third of respondents—and a significantly higher share of left-leaning respondents—expressed some degree of justification for acts of lethal violence.”
Respondents were also asked whether violent attacks on Tesla dealerships are justified to protest Elon Musk. Forty percent said such attacks are at least somewhat acceptable, according to The Federalist.
“These attitudes are not fringe — they reflect an emergent assassination culture, grounded in far-left authoritarianism and increasingly normalized in digital discourse,” said the report. “The reports found widespread justification for lethal violence — including assassination — among younger, highly online, and ideologically left-aligned users,” the authors added.
