Argentina: Doctors For Truth released on bail pending trial

A criminal judge in the Argentine city of Rosario Thursday decided to uphold the prosecution's request to charge Doctors for the Truth head Mariano Arriaga for "instigation to commit crimes", reported MercoPress.

Judge María Trinidad Chiabera arraigned Mariano Arriaga for "publicly inciting and inducing a group of people to gather" when gatherings were banned by presidential emergency COVID decree.Arriaga was charged together with a councilman from a small town in the province of Chaco and with another doctor for calling for an anti-quarantine meeting during which demonstrators were subjected to police brutality and fired at with rubber bullets.

The three were arrested while holding a meeting of about 200 people to question the World Health Organization (WHO) and national governments for their role in disinforming the public regarding COVID-19.
